We want to provide this information to as many prospective athletes, athletic directors, coaches, parents, and school counselors as possible. Our goal is to take the knowledge high school athletes need to navigate the recruitment process out of the hands of the pay-to-play model and put it into the hands of people who care- like yours!
Become a volunteer mentor to help athletes navigate the recruitment process 1-1, schedule Q&A sessions with local high school athletes, or simply send out our Google Drive resources, which include a presentation, flyers, and worksheets.
Our staff worked with NCAA compliance officers to ensure we are protecting our college athletes, high school athletes, and coaches. Before sharing or hosting an event, please read through the rules and regulations for current college athletes. When holding in-person events, current athletes and coaches should always double-check with their school's compliance director.
These rules and regulations only apply to college athletes with remaining eligibility; athletes who have graduated or have finished the final game of their final season do not need to follow these rules. Coaches should always talk to their school's compliance director before interacting with prospective athletes.
Student-athlete refers to the collegiate athlete; prospective athlete refers to the high school athlete.

Student-athletes can not observe prospective athletes playing, nor can they play with them

College coaches can not be present during live presentations or events

The presentation or event must occur during the college's regular academic year

The student-athlete can not miss class

The student-athlete must be athletically and academically eligible

The student-athletes' involvement must be voluntary

The prospective athlete's participation is voluntary, and the event or presentation is open to all students, regardless of their status as athletes

Student-athletes may not wear school or athletic team apparel to the event

It is NOT a recruiting event. Student-athletes may either not talk about their current team, athletics department, or recruitment process, or tell prospective students which college they attend. For the purposes of this event, it is recommended that student-athletes not tell the prospective athletes which school they attend.
Although these rules may be tedious, they are essential to protecting your eligibility and the future eligibility of prospective athletes. Contact your athletic department's compliance officer if you are unsure about anything.
Sign up to be a volunteer mentor
If you are a current or retired college athlete, sign up to be a volunteer mentor. Our team will reach out for an intake meeting, where we will get to know you and your interests. We will then connect you with high school athletes seeking mentorship who we feel are a good fit for you.

As part of our efforts to make college recruitment more accessible and diverse, we are participating in a program that sends college athletes to high schools like yours to give a free presentation and participate in a Q&A panel. This event was created by the evidence-based nonprofit program Just4EveryoneAthletics. This work has been presented to the NCAA, MIAA, and multiple conferences and has won awards. It is a fantastic opportunity for your students.
I am reaching out to see if your school would be open to having a few collegiate student-athletes do a short presentation, followed by a Q&A on the college application and recruitment process. This panel is for all of your students, not just student-athletes, as we will talk about applying to college, student life, and transferable skills.
Ideally, we would like to visit your school sometime in [time frame] that works for you, and we are open to whatever times you can get us in, so long as we aren't missing class!

This program sends high schools like yours information on the college recruiting process to break down the pay-to-play barrier many of our athletes face.
In this email, I have included a link to a folder that includes a slide deck, a recorded presentation, flyers on the recruitment process, and worksheets for your athletes, whether or not they are interested in playing a college sport.
This presentation was recorded by athletes who have extensive research experience in the topic and have won awards for their work. They cover how your students can use the skills they gain from athletics on resumes and college applications, what the experience of playing in college is like, options student-athletes have to take their sport to the next level, and a step-by-step guide to the recruitment process.
