Accessible Recruitment
Our goal is to make college athletic recruitment more inclusive, accessible, and equitable by giving high school athletes and those who support them the information they need to understand and navigate the process. College athletics can be a powerful tool into higher education, connecting students with opportunities, financial support, mentorship, community, and resources that may otherwise be out of reach. We believe every athlete deserves a fair opportunity to open that door, regardless of their background.
Studies show that it is not a lack of talent that prevents athletes from being recruited, but a lack of knowledge about the recruitment process.
Athletes interested in playing a college sport, coaches, athletic directors, parents, and counselors were in mind when we created our college recruitment resources. Check out our project through Google Drive for a presentation, flyers, and interactive worksheets. These materials are FREE and available to share with everyone.

Why Play Sports?
In general, sports promote physical and mental well-being. Athletes learn skills that help them grow academically and socially. Sports provide structure, mentorship, and resources. It is a myth that athletics takes away from academics; for the most part, participating in athletics actually helps students succeed in the classroom and beyond. Sports give athletes experiences and skills that are highly desirable to admission officers and hiring committees.
Being recruited to a collegiate athletics team can provide an admissions boost, helping the athlete gain admission to a more prestigious college that might offer better financial aid through the coach's recommendation. In college, sports provide time management, structure, and additional resources and support, such as extra academic advisors, study hall hours, connections to class deans, mental performance consultants or sports psychologists, counselors, nutritionists, and more. Athletes also have an automatic support system through teammates and the coaching staff. Fall sport athletes even arrive on campus early, which can help them acclimate to college life more easily. At some schools, like many NEWMAC and NESCAC schools, athletes hold the highest overall GPA of any student group on campus. For some athletes, DI and DII programs can offer athletic scholarships to cover financial aid gaps.
